A Work in Progress...

I started this post once before...in 2005. So much has changed since that date. It's amazing how life can turn on a dime...with illnesses and death...but there is also hope, birth, and joy. But my intention is that this blog becomes a compendium of works or just simple thoughts and/or opinions of various issues and ideas which may or may not be of interest to anyone other than the author...it is plainly in the very early stages of development. I hope you will visit again and monitor our progress.

4th of July in Red, White, and Blue

I woke up this morning thinking...wouldn't it be nice to celebrate Independence Day at Harry Winston's...
How about this little Diane Watch...the inspiration of which comes from Diana, the iconic Roman Goddess renowned for her strength, athletic grace, distinct beauty, and huntress skills.

Or what about this lovely, little Pear-shaped Drop necklace from The Incredibles at Harry Winston's...

Or this lovely little blue sapphire Harry calls the Sugerloaf Sapphire...

Opening Night: Sex and the City 2

Went to see Carrie and "the girls" last night...opening night!  Theater was packed and not a male in sight except for the ushers!  And they didn't let me down...it was great.  Abu Dhabi will never be the same!  Hope they continue with a third, fourth, etc...would love to see those ladies age!  They haven't lost their chemistry and the wardrobes were terrific...Christian Louboutin has replaced Manolo Blahnik...look for the gold shoes with the red soles!  And, Carrie never looked better!  It was a fun movie...great satire...

Some of the reviews are critical of the new identity for Carrie...but maybe she just grew up to realize what's important.  A review from Austrialia's news.com.au said she "continues to diminish herself for love, or what she perceives as love."  But I think Mr. Big summed it up best...

“After a while, you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh."

Ann Hornaday, in The Washington Post, said the movie was "garish, when it should be sumptuous, tacky when it should be luxe, wafter-thin when it should be whip-smart and sophisticated."  But I think she missed the point of the film's satire...Sex and the City has never been reality, and I, for one, hope it never will be!

Well, you've got all day to try to improve your score...I'm trying to figure out how to put the darn thing on my blog so it's active...haven't succeeded yet!
